As word starting spreading, some of my closest friends and strangers hopped on the broomstick with me to bring Halloween help to Southeast Texas.
Students at Sabine Pass ISD collected costumes for their Honor Society project and delivered 76 costumes they'd collected at a drop off box outside the office. High school students from Hamshire Fannett HS volunteered the day of the event to paint faces and suit up as characters.
Our first year I established costume drop off locations around SE Texas allowing the community to come together to donate 560 gently used and new costumes. These businesses trusted an organization of disorganized volunteers, without a 501c3 label, because they believed in the idea. Treat it Forward is all of us. It is business sponsorships, private donations, a costume or two dropped off at one of our now *14* costume drop off locations, and it is anyone who wants to volunteer to help a child smile.
